Hot Pipes!

I had a LR removable hitch fitted by the dealer on my D3 (new 5 weeks ago) on removing it I found that the holder described in the manual (behind a cover to the left of the load area) was not present. It has been ordered for me but for now I wrap the hitch in a towel and poke it in the hole. My question is, what are the pipes that get VERY hot that are in the same place. I would have assumed somthing to do with rear heating?
Any ideas? Also the dealer tells me the part on order should be 70 quid but they are supplying it free to make up for other issues.. Is this right as I would expect it to be included in the £500 that I paid for the bar!

Cheers

£70 - thats about right Shocked you would think it'd be included in the cost of the towbar - but nope Rolling Eyes

As for the hot pipes - that'd be the rear aircon i would think.
Mine is a lower spec so i don't have that - so i cant check on your behalf but im sure someone else will be along to confirm my "blind diagnosis".

you will find that if you have the rear aircon, you will have a hell of a time fitting the hitch into the holder into the space, I just leave the hitch on as I haven't managed it yet!

As regards the pipes, I wondered about aircon, but discounted it as they are always hot and I only ever run the rear aircon when my spoilt dog is in residence. I have to say that he really rather likes the luxury of his own aircon. If he wants it cooler he just sticks his tongue out a little and I reach and turn the blower up!
