Certainly charging the battery was a sensible idea.
What are the voltages with the engine running & not?
It would help if you can get the codes read.

Njss. I tested battery 12.6 and 13.96 running. I have just disconnected the battery for an hour and when I start the engine up and drive all the lights come on and it feels like it's applying the brakes. It also says on the dash suspension lowered(but it's not) htc fault and the suspension switch and terrain selection is not working. I have last week changed the inner steering rack joints and the ignition switch as it had a internal electrical fault as the wipers and main beam were intermittent. I had used it after the rack and had no warnings. Thanks

I have just tried a hard reset and locking car for 10 minutes but still the same I only move the car 3m and it all comes on again. I was thinking could it be the brake switch as I read awhile ago it can through up lots of faults. Any help would be appreciated

Just tried to reset the steering angle sensor with my Reader which failed to do it.
What would the braking feeling and rubbing sound be when all these lights come on.
the suspensions not changed.

I had similar, the rubbing and braking noise I believe is the abs firing for the stability control
My problem was the steering angle sensor was out of alignment with the wheels because the plastic collar on the shaft that pass through the sensor was able to move

And it seems to describe your faults.

Dazz360. That sounds feasible I'll check that today to see if it's come lose.
A week ago I changed the inner joints on the steering rack and track rod ends I counted the threads when removing them and replaced the same.
The steering wheel could be out a couple of inches from centre OR I'm imagining it
Drove a couple of miles all ok so parked up a week.
i do have an indi garage 10 miles away but don't fancy chancing it case I do more damage
Is there anyone in my area with a diagnostics tool that can re calibrate it here

more info. the yellow/white area of the sensor moves with the shaft when the steering is turned but i can stop it turning with a light touch.
reading other post i assume the ring friction fit is u/s and i need to repair that by replacement or sticking
can the sensor be moved out of the way to do this in situe.

I've got the steering column out and the plastic ring is spinning freely unfortunately.
How do I expose more shaft so I can clean the area and apply an 2 part adhesive to hold it in place also does it have a specific location. Any help would be greatly appreciated

All back together now I managed to re calibrate it with the lsoftcar reader which was handy. I done the repair with super glue between the sleeve and rapid setting aroldit around the top. Many Thanks for your input with this project.
