Humming from heating/ventilation system

I,ve got a MY12 with 6000 miles on the clock which seems to be making a strange noise from the heating system. Turn it on in the morning and everything seems to be Ok but after a 20 odd mile drive to work I can sometimes hear a low level humming sound (like a compressor running). Doesn't alter with fan speed or temperature setting but if I turn off the heating system completely it stops. Turn it back on and the noise 'kicks in' after a couple of seconds. Normal?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Andy.

I had exactly the same from new and although been to the dealers nothing could be found faulty.

Not sure now if the noise has gone or if I have just got use to it.

Nothing like that with mine.

I nearly always run it on Full AUTO.

Noise can change/vary through the Fascia vents if you or passenger starts altering the flow rate controllers. Wouldn't call that a humming though.
If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

Just to confirm - changing your pollen filter WILL NOT cure this problem. After reading some posts I tried it but to no avail. Just £40 worst off. However, I now know how to change it and can't believe how simple it is Shocked
