So I have a bullbar and lamps, but... |
|
Hi there Disco experts.
Can someone give me a hint what could have gone wrong? Here is the story:
I had a dealer install a bullbar and extra lamps on my Disco 3 earlier today. All seemed to work fine, but when it was getting darker at the evening I noticed the illumination of my dashboard and centre console does not work at all!!! Any idea where to look? Hoing back to the dealer is out of the question - closest one is some 150 km away from where I live and I have no time to travel there within the next week or so!
Could it be fuse (which one is responsible for dashboard illumination?). Or could it be they fogot to connect something when putting things together after lamps were installed? The only thing illuminated at the dashboard is... the switch for the new lamps!
Looking forward to your help.
Kris

This may sound stupid, but have you checked the dashboard illumination dimmer is not turned down? Had this problem with my mother and her car.

The dealer has to break into the vehicle wiring, sounds like they either dislodged some pins in the connector or got the wrong ones...

the post just seem to stop; was this ever solved?
what was the problem in the end? Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

Yes, I fixed it myself - dealer connected some cables wrong - I fixed it just by following the installation manual for the lamps...
It was 2,5 years ago! Good old days when those were my only problems with Disco3 (and with this particular dealer)
