How do I get my 19"s to a black finish?
Can anyone tell me how to go about turning a set of 19" Rims from standard silver, to black???CLUB ' Ah shor it'll be grand'

Powdercoating Thomas , try Crosby's in Wexford . About a1/2 mile from where we met on Saturday.Gotta be plenty of places in Waterford aswell.

Was'nt sure what the process was. Do you just get them powder coated, or do they have to be sand blasted/stripped first? There is a company in Waterford called SP Heat Transfers I think they do powder coating.CLUB ' Ah shor it'll be grand'

Ken's the expert, but if you look at my previous post on this, I have been told by the powder coaters it needs to be stripped down completely, otherwise the powdercoating process does not "stick".
There are two methods I know of one being sand/saw blasting, or acid strip. If you go sand blasting, you have to trust the guy doing it, as the possibility to do damage to the alloy is huge, since it is very soft.
After stripping, you can have it powder coated. Must admit, I was surprised by the many colours and textures available for powder coating.
Then there is a process of cleaning the hubs which Ken will still post pictures, and enlighten me/us. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

Most powder coaters sand blast the surface to ensure a clean surface that will allow the paint to stay on the product.
Then the powder is sprayed on then baked in an oven. They can do all kinds of colors and I have heard even metalic but I have not seen that in person yet.2005 SE-7 BLUE

Thomas sorry fella been a bit busy as its snowed and I’ve had a few issues to sort
You can get your local guys to refurb by painting just make sure they reapply lacquer in copious amounts, I don’t use this method I prefer PowerCoating as the results speak for them self
If you go the PC route don’t get blasted get them Dipped & stripped

Just noticed your for sale post..... By any chance if I got a set of wheels over to you, would you be interested in blackerising them for me... Donno if that is your gig or not?.... If not, could send you a set of used 19"s plus cash in exchange for the black ones....
