agree and imagine it's a lot harder trying to use the rotary dials instead of the proper gear lever

There's a fortune waiting for anyone who can produce an after market conversion stick. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I had an RRS Sport with that auto gear lever and hated it! Left me stuck in the middle of a junction on two occasions, fighting to overcome the safety interlocks to get it to give me a gear. Any gear would have done!!
The rotary knob is also completely out of the way when the ignition is off.
Give me the simple and compact rotary gear knob any day 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Got to agree with the above two posts, once you get used to the rotary knob, it's far better than the old gearstick

I disagree. Only advantage is it disappears when not in use. In use, it's nowhere near as good.

When I first drove the RRS, I thought that the gear selector would be better than the rotary one with familiarity. It feels very ergonomic, with hidden buttons that must become second nature to use practice. So what if it makes the inside look like a BMW?
But, in practice, it was clumsy, complicated and annoying, while the safety lockouts were completely counterintuitive and meant that I had to take my eyes off the road to try and work it out!2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I find the stick as offensive as the offset number plate on the D5. Unless your a dinosaur, it has to be the superior rotary knob.
