I know its been asked many times but.............. |
|
But will ask as getting conflicting views when I talk to myself about it.
With a defined budget my options appear to be
a) 60 plate HSE
b) 61 or 12 plate XS
Am I better going with the better spec HSE or the new 8 spd with little on it?

If the xs has the bigger screen, go for that. 4x4, timed park heating and cruise (if it doesn't have it) can all be switched on. Bodsys Brake Bible

Controversial I know, however I would go for the 60 HSE.
- I don't like the gear change twist to put it in Sport mode.
- I also don't like the 8 speed box as it has a habit of changing down mid corner if you are trying to push on.

I drove the 8 speed on an experience day and I know I am all cock-handed but I kept clicking the paddles - I am sure it will drive SWMBO mad.
I have them on my Audi and dont have an issue, think its just where they are placed ?
Bodsy - is the touch screen bigger on the new ones then? It looked better laid out but didnt look any bigger than the one I currently have on my 59 plate. D4 HSE - Aintree Green

8 speed XS without a doubt.
Residuals will be much better on the newer spec vehicle.

as long as its the bigger screen, the small screen is really small, assuming you have satnav then same sized screen ISTR Bodsys Brake Bible

8 speed, no competition. For me not much better spec on HSE and the biggest things, you will get a better finance/discount deal with a new one and the main thing, it will be a full 3 year manufacturers warranty Joined the BMWX5 45e group
