I make that roughly 300 mpg (to the nearest 50mpg). I shall look forward to doing that in my d3 when I pick it up at the end of the week

DSL can you please show your calculations,
I used the calculation
5L=1gallon
so 71L=14gallon
14G divide into 454Miles=32
But as i said in earlier post i did not buy D3 on MPH convoy For Heroes record holder (348)

I think the ratio of Litres to (Imperial) Gal is 4.54:1 not 5 - so I make it a smidge over 29 mpg.
Wish my D4 was that good

MPG
Have had about 6 Disco's, manual and auto TDV6's (all company cars, but not company fuel, until latest one being my own private car). Used to commute 110 mile round trip to work every day and averaged about 30k miles a year overall
All were very consistent in that Manuals I could eke out to about 33mpg on a run and the auto about 31mpg.
Prefer the auto but do find it a bit of a niggle that it won't "automatically" lock out in 6th when cruising gently at just over 50mph when its nicely in the torque band. Find myself constantly knocking it over to command shift to manually select 6th gear when on flat roads at steady speed (isn't that what an auto supposed to do). Persist in doing it as history shows it made about 2mpg difference to overall consumption.
My current car, TDV6 auto, is showing 31.5mpg on a mix of driving probably 25% town, 25% motorway and 50% A/B roads, all driven gently'ish where possible sticking around the speed limits (or thereabouts ).
Have 'history' of hundreds of Disco's 'owned' by work colleagues over the years and a 'common figure' for general overall consumption was a fairly consistent 27mpg which seems about right to me.
