I have a radio interference problem...

The radio reception in my D3 is very poor when the rear heated window is switched on. Its perfect when the window is switched off. Anyone got an idea if its something I have damaged. Its only started happening recently, and I have been carrying a lot of kit around in the back recently, and I think the aerial is built into the glass. I cannot see anything damaged.

yea m8, almost certainly you will have a damaged rear screen element - only needs a tiny break, seem many bmw tourers with the same fault....

would be worth checking cables through tailgate tho just in case Thumbs Up

Thx M8 8) , will have a closer look. Do you happen to know if its the heating element on the glass that forms the aerial? because it demists the window fine with no missing bits.

Think the radio aerial on mine is in the rear side windows, as they do not de-mist when the rear window is switched on and they are too wide apart Thumbs Up

As kernowexpeditionaryforce said - I had exactly the same problem, one of my dogs scratched the back window. You can get a copper repair paint from Halfords and other motoring stores.

I have exactly the same problem so will check the wires when I get home tonight so thanks for the tips above - but how does a break in the heated screeen element knacker the radio?

Sounds like i have the same problem some where, i posted on it the other day. I lose my radio signal 100% at times. Sound from CD and AUX is fine but nothing, not even a crackle on the radio side of things. When i then search stations it just runs through the numbers. If you find any solution then let me know and i will vice versa

Going to have a proper hunt around this weekend
