Am I right to be suspicious? |
|
Two weeks ago my 07 Disco was in for a coolant leak. Fixed under warranty. Whilst there they wanted to change front suspension rods for 'excessive play'. Since my MOT was due by end of March I declined and said I would wait to see what the MOT threw up. I did however pay out £250 for new rear brake shoes...despite the fact one side was replaced last September it had apparently 'broken up'.
So last week we had a juddering, which I thought was possibly a misfire. So I took it in today for that and the MOT.
Passed MOT no problems.
They had several 'advisories' however.
1) Gear selector switch £700 (juddering, which really I still am not convinced was not a misfire - it only occurs during cruising at motorway speeds if anyone can have an opinion).
2) Aircon leaking, needs degas, pipes replacing and regas. £500
Both luckily I can claim under warranty.
'Pinion' oil leak £250. Not detected only 2 weeks ago. Not a warranty item.
Knocking of front suspension. £625. Not a warranty item. Now, I haven't heard any knocking, nor did I report any. Nor was it a problem two weeks ago. No 'excessive play' mentioned.
Help me here, what am I to think of this dealer? They are not the dealer that paid for the warranty btw. Car is on 66K miles. *now enjoying* D5 Namib Orange HSE 68

No, apparently they are from a 'dealer checklist inspection', so I think none of them are actually MOT advisories. *now enjoying* D5 Namib Orange HSE 68

Well I have declined the 'suspension knocking' repair because I can't hear it. Plus it can't be that bad if it's not an MOT fail can it?
It's so hard to find a garage you can trust! *now enjoying* D5 Namib Orange HSE 68
