Should I take the horrid wait !!
Hey all,
As some may know, my car is at the dealers all ready to go next week when there new showroom models delivered proBably
Friday.
Now the dealer has asked if I want to wait till march 1st and have on a 13 plate instead of a 62
Does it make much difference and who would wait the xtra week
Any advice guys ?

well here's an interesting fact, DVLA will allow you to have a 62 plated but reg'd after 1st march due to peeps not wanting to have "13" in there number plate....so my thoughts are that this year, above any would be the year to avoid 13 plate on yer car for resale purposes if DVLA recon 13 would detract.
I recon 3 years down the road, would it make a difference, probably not but the dealer you trade in against would knock off monies...wait the week but get a 62 plate

Dealer made me the same off but I took the car 2 weeks ago. Having checked the difference in resale value down the line seemed minimal / non-existant and I guess the 6 month rotation on registrations helps. The slightly strange system where 62 can = 2013 makes the visual impact less dramatic than the dim and distant past.
Ignoring the registration plate you will have an MY13 car delivered in 2013 - what could be simpler.

many years ago when SWMBO and I got together I bought a Ford Fiesta from the auction that finished in the index "PRO".
Suffice to say she would not drive it........never under estimate the female mind when making a car purchase, she might be fine now, but the next buyer's wife may not giving the perfect opportunity for the dealer to knock yer back on the p/x price
