So, 18 months after parting company with my D3 I’m seriously thinking of coming back into the fold albeit with a D4 this time.
Whilst the decision to sell the D3 was still the right one from a logical perspective at the time (age, mileage, condition, and value) rarely has a day gone by where I haven’t missed it.
I’ve been running about in a 2009 Volvo XC70 D5 which actually is a very good car. It’s roomy, comfortable, quick, been faultlessly reliable, hardly cost me a penny and to boot probably has all the 4x4 capability that I will ever need (was great in the lanes by me in the snow and managed to easily pull a Mondeo out of a muddy field last summer). I seem to remember saying shortly after I acquired it that it was all the car I would ever need and that is still true, but.......
......the pull of a D4 is simply too great. I want one; I have convinced myself that I need one, and like a miracle out of the sky SWMBO said last weekend “well the Disco was the best car we ever had wasn’t it and I’d really like another oneâ€
Job done then? Watch this space (for lots of spec questions about a D4)

Will of course keep my eye open/on any for sale on the forum. I'm unlikely to be able to finance what I want without either selling the Volvo first or chopping it in as a PX. Given that I can't be without a vehicle for any more than a day or so that makes PX route much more likely unfortunately.
