I wish Dom...it was the "oh shi e, ive forgot to pick up the missus from the train station" scenario.
J turn out of the drive with black out windows, no rear pdc and a dark grey mundano = "hello direct line, how may i help you" "you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"

My mother in law will go out of her way to drive down country lanes and avoid major roads. So there she is on a little road that crosses the A5 and it's closed due to a major accident. She gives the Police man, the hells teeth, I only want to cross over onto the minor road over there routine. He tells her politely to off and turn round, go away etc as he is busy and the road is closed, end of.
She promptly does a three point turn into his V70, marked Motorway car with Blues flashing.
6 Points and due care and attention, not bad for a 74 ear old !!"To finish first, one first has to finish ...."
Steve, you can make all the gay comments you like. You drive like a girl! I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Back on topic for a sec girls...
With my old D3 without the auto release EPB the beeping started as soon as you selected reverse. Which is good especially if a child is behind you or you had forgotten that concrete bollard or indeed Mondeo
With the new and very handy (I do like it) auto release EPB, the beeping starts only when the EPB has released - ie when you have lifted the clutch (I'm old fashioned) and started to press the go peddle. This is not good.
Unless you remember to manually release the EPB when reversing, you could potentially reverse into something.
OK, I could check for inanimate objects before I get in, but the highly mobile human may not be there one second and there the next.
Unless I have a fault with my boot bats that is.

Exactly what happened Simon...though only way the sensors kick in is if i physically take off epb then engage reverse
Still on the positive side...looked at the damage on mine this morning...bit of trim lifted from the top of the bumper...snapped straight back into place and a tiny little scuff
No repairs required
Not quite the same for Mr Ford driver though "you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"

Don't forget that for a few more hours (or is it days?) we are Ford drivers.
Still its nice to see that our bit of Ford makes stronger lumps than his bit of Ford
On ponders - in the future, when we are Tata drivers will we get discounts at the local curry house Rob Smith

You see that is why I love this site. Call me thick (many have ) but I did not realise that the EPB stopped the sensors from working
