Thanks - have just paired 2 new keys to my Discovery.

As an experiment I bought my keys from China for £20 each:

They look and feel the part and the auction page pictures at least show a rechargeable Panasonic battery....

Thanks for the feedback .

ALways good to get positive feedback on cheap keys.

Out of interest, are the buttons stiff/hard to press ? or really easy ?

You've given me two extremes to choose from... You know the replacement key cases? It's like that really.

I'm not sure how I found the one I did but the quality is very high. Yes there is more resistance versus my 10 year old original but it's not bad. It's actually very good, for £20. Lets see if they last! At least the battery is theoretically rechargeable unlike the low tech case/battery replacement. Incidentally it was me doing that battery replacement badly with a 30w soldering iron ripping off circuit track that prompted this action.

For me, if you have an IID it's a no-brainer to just buy these keys versus the time consuming, doesn't glue together properly alternative.

Mek: Did the fob work out and does the battery recharge?

I can report that both keys are still working well without issue. I hope this means they are charging!

The range is slightly less than my remaining original key but this isn’t really an issue
