The IID Tool BT purchase.

I have just purchased an IID Tool BT from Island 4x4.
I'm now getting used to it and working out its quirks.
I must say how helpful Patrick in Canada is.

I do have one question though, am I correct in thinking that any module upgrade costs extra?
The way I read it unless I had bought a Pro version £1200 plus an annual subscription, only really for the pros who use it as a work tool, so upgrading the clock on dash, and the Sat on the Move cast £25 a go, so £50 for the two is that correct.
I have say I hope I'm wrong because that only became apparent after reading the manual, nothing was said in the advertising, at least nothing I have seen!

Comments please.

IPC, BCM, etc. upgrades are free.

The fast lane service does cost but I’ve never [had to?] used it. https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/shop/fast-lane-service/

At that price I would’ve bought another... where are they for £1200?

Whoops! Finger trouble, should have been £1800!

So the 'Sat on The Move' and the 'Clock on Dash' as well as '3 flash' don't need a fast lane payment, that's more like it!

What exactly IS the fast lane for? I read the blurb but was a little confused, not difficult I know, but how do we know there is an updated bit of firmware for our car to ask for it?

Best

My motor runs fine without any fast lane stuff
I've done most of the free stuff
but now enjoy the driving experience for what it is.
Don't get bogged down with all the technical malarky

Get out there and enjoy, you'll have plenty of time to use the IID when the time comes

Thumbs Up

Oh Sea Raider such wise words, but I am but human and temptation always grabs me by the you know whats!
I love Tech!!
My previous D3, also a HSE was a high mileage vehicle when I thought I had dispensed with its talents, so bringing this one 'up to scratch' with clocks and sat nav bits is a bit like wanting the old one back at least in spirit.
Considering I did all the upgrades with my Faultmate MSV2 and lived to tell the tale, I was hoping the IID Toll was going to be a walk in the park.
It is a bit like getting used to an Android pad and then getting an iPad, does the same things but in a different way!
So it is back to the manual and a cold garage to sort the various MOST problems I have plus I now discovered non functioning powerfold mirrors!

Best
