Illusive Stormers

Hi All

After much patience and virtue thanks to Marcon I have ordered a set of stormers with 275 45 20 Hankooks apparently these ride better than the UHPS. All in all its costing me 1550 Euro. Will post some pics once I get em!

Cheers

No not really i will just keep buying second hand! I will be changing in two year for another Disco maybe a 2007 model Tax will be up 11% but no big deal. Incidentally called tyre place re Hankooks they are rated at 109 so I told him I wanted the UHPs at 114 or no deal! What are the UHPs like for mileage? Down in Limerick Monday with my friends in Eastway!

Congrats on getting your Stomers Googsy best of luck with them Thumbs Up

They really do look the “Muts” on D3’s & RRS’s 8)

Just be careful though as they are quite prone to kerb rash & damage.

Just a note on the term 'UHP'.
It stands for Ultra High Performance .... therefore its primarily a description for a Road tyre.
Many manufacturers do UHP's.
The ones BarryG and I swear by are the Grabber UHP's
I had Conti UHP's before and they're not a patch in performance [and looks] of the Grabber.
Esp with a good 114 load rating!
So get yourself some Grabbers Googsy

Ok Ronp and Barry G

Need your input!

Ronp the link is for 295's with 114 Rating correct? Dealer tells me I will have to get speedo reset if I go with this option? Shocked

BarryG do you have these or 275's with rating of 110? Shocked

Please clarify so I can order me beauties I so need them Big Cry Big Cry

Cheers Thumbs Up Sheep Sheep

Googsy .

I Have the 275's , Ron has the 295's

the 275 are 110 and the 295's are 114. I went for the 275 for the reason that I felt that this would be better on crap irish roads (more uneven than Uk) in general the more rubber on the road the more the car wants to follow this. Also the more rubber the more chance of aquapaining. The 110 are "1" below the standard 111 , But in my case Im lighter than a
standard Disco as Im commecrial so no extra weight in seats and more over no chance of ever having the extra weight
of say 5 people in the back. IF you do the math the 110 are well within the limits. (I have done , I have taken advice
on my setup from people who I trust who know what they are talking about .. almost 50k with no issues.)

To answer your question regardless of 275 or 295 having to have your speedo reset is a load of Censored , the rolling Dia
difference is so small (ie the Dia of 275/45 and 295/45) .

If it was me I would go for the 275 (more drivable over here IMO)

Just to add . Ron has the 295 and is very happy with them .

PM me with you phone Number if you want to know more.

B.

Bow down Bow down Bow down Cheers BarryG

only concern I have is the load rating I am in the car most of the time on my own!

Who would have thought buying stormers would be so painful Sheep

Hi Googsy

Very happy with my mean and aggressive 295 width.
Agree with BarryG re rubber on road etc etc but I have'nt had any issues [although I drive very wary of this].
Also with the 45 profile versus my previous Conti's 40 profile, the ride is so much softer.

re speedo rating, with the 295s your speedo will read bang on.
[I've checked this against my Road Angel and Navio ipaq programme.]
So yes, aggree with BarryG .... your guy's talking out his Censored .

Right thanks chaps.

I am thinking I will go for the 295s on the basis they can do them at the same price

Failing that I will go the 275 route!

Cheers Guys!
