immobiliser problem???

My 2008 D3 2.7 manual diesel will not crank - plenty of power to battery. When key in ignition and door open there is no warning bleep anymore. Turn the key to start and the central locking clicks a few times but the engine does not event attempt to turn over. The hazards did flash constantly and had to disconnect battery to turn off. (this has stopped happening now)
I have tried spare key no change there and attempted online fixes of turning key in passenger lock for 5 secs and connecting battery leads to re-boot system but no change.
The suspension has dropped down so can't even tow to a garage!

You may want to see if the fuses relaxant to ignition switch have power

You do have it in Neutral and foot on brake. Check the brake switch as its a known problem

Thank you have tried putting foot on brake and D3 in neutral - I will have a look at brake switch but would this actually stop the vehicle cranking?

I can hear a click of 'points' in passenger footwell area when attempt to start?

Bad connections to the battery or earth connections from it or to the frame & engine.

Immobiliser Problems

I am having the exact same thing right now on my 2006 Disco 3. Been having a chat about this on the D3 & D4 Technical Group on Facebook, and they're saying that this can be caused by Three Green Wires that need re-splicing together. There are a few topics covering this on this site, so I'm off to find them. I'll post a link here if I find the right post. It can also be triggered by RADAR, apparently, which is interesting. This started around the same time as yours. Coincidence?
Any way, for the Lulz, I found a chat about the RADAR issue here: Honest John's RADAR chat.

This thread talks about testing your CAN BUS, which is related to this very issue, as well.

Here's a thread on the Three Green Wires Splice, which is one of the reasons the immobiliser gives you trouble.

Another wire-splicing problem, this time the Purple/Blue Wire Splice

Thank you for the links - will mention to the auto electrician that I have found: after 3.5 hours he believes it is all pointing to the complete fuse panel below glove box - nothing on the dash seems to be communicating with the unit, I have bought a used one from ebay so he can confirm his findings that I need a new panel but currently waiting for him to return because he is so busy!
He has said this is not an issue that he has had before?

Goodd luck! I hope you get yours fixed. I've been out there today, getting dirty and testing wires.

Since then, a guy on the facebook group tells me he's had this problem come to him many times and it's always the Instrument Pack. He gave me this website and said they'll fix the ECU for about £150+Vat. I'm still going through my cable testing, but will look into this if I can't find a problem with the wires.

I'll post my results here, too, when I get some results.
