Check rear bulbs on the side that is not working - need to remove them as some have shown to be faulty.

This sounds similar to an issue I had a couple of years ago on my 4.

It started with the right hand front indicator remaining on all the time, even when the car was turned off and locked! It also has an afs warning light come on. It happened after washing the car

Eventually traced to damaged wiring in the loom behind the headlamp. I had to take out the headlamp and the wheel arch liner to access the loom as it came around the the chassis from the engine bay.

I had to cut off all the insulation wrap to expose wires and I found them damaged in the plastic shroud that is taped into the loom to guide it around the corner of the chassis. It looked like there had been a short as a few wires were melted together.

Once I found it, it was a simple fix with a soldering iron and some shrink wrap. When the dealer had it they couldn’t fix it.

I’ll try and dig up the thread.
