Inlet Manifold replacement - Does it have new injector pipes
Hi All,
My MY12 D4 went in for an restricted performance in June.. turned out to be the n/s inlet manifold..
A few weeks later it had a major fuel leak (n/s injector pipes) and had to be recovered.
The dealership told me that when the inlet manifold is replaced they should have also replace the injector pipes..
Are these one use? i.e. once removed should they be replaced? I know we all would just refit, but what is the correct way?
Does anyone have any info on that MOD? where it says the pipes should be replaced??
They fitted 3 new injector pipes, but went back in today as it was leaking badly from (they think) the pump> rail pipe on the same side..
The service manager just told me they didn't have to replace that one but it seems to me that they would come as a sided kit?
So he's just tightened it.. I'm sceptical that its actually fixed the leak but I guess we'll see..
He said they wouldn't have touched the pump > rail pipe..Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

Correct! as per the workshop manual....
this because the cone that guarantees the seal (pipe side joint which is softer than the seat on the injector) is crushed when tight, and would not guarantee the seal in the subsequent re-tightening....
I remind you that there are 1600-1800bar inside this pipes...Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

The manual states that they should be replaced. In practice, I've never replaced an HP pipe...My D3 Build Thread
