Installing TV to view on in-dash Sat Nav screen? |
|
I have searched the forums for something appropriate but have had no luck. I apologise if a thread covering this is already available.
I was wondering what the best but most cost efficient way was of installing TV into my Discovery 3.
I was initially just thinking it would be on the in-dash touch screen but maybe a drop down TV would be best, possibly with DVD input but not necessarily.
I did not know if I could get a DVB Tuner and install this under one of the seats or similar and wire it to the screen?
I apologise if this post sounds a wee bit vague but I would welcome any comments or suggestions you may have?
Thank you in advance.

Hi , Welcome to the site .
There are a few options ..
Cheapest ...get some fakra connectors ( or SMB plugs ) and connect direct to the back of the sat nav screen . You have to enter the diagnostics to get it to show up , but only takes 10 seconds .You can input up to 3 sources through the screen inputs .

Or buy an expensive interface box ..price from £350 onwards ..you then have a hidden button / remote to access AV inputs into the screen
Audio is another issue , but there are various places you can tap into .
Have a look in my gallery ..i have fitted what you want and more ..may give you some ideas G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Wiggs, this is great, thank you.
I've had my Discovery 3 for a year now and can't believe I have never been on this site before! In the past 24 hours all I have thought about is what I can do with my D3 as a result of reading these forums!! I have bored the wife stupid already!!!
One, probably very dumb question, how do I access the diagnostics to select the additional sources once I'm all wired up?
Thanks again.
