Instrument Cluster Replacement |
|
I have replaced the instrument cluster on my 07 with a brand new cluster from the dealer to try and cure an intermittent electrical problem, but the new cluster does not appear to sync with the car! The learn vin routine on the IId tool seems to work but the mileage sync fails. Any guidance gratefully received.

Did you restore from a backup of your old Ipack first.? then do the learn vin and sync the miles.

No, I did learn Vin and then Sync Odometer from the Service Menu. Do I need to restore the back up first?

I have swapped back to the old cluster for now so that the car is useable, but if anyone has a step by step guide to replacing the cluster it would be great. The IID tool is fantastic, but a bit daunting.

Ok now you have the original Ipack back in, the first thing is to read the Ipack, this will create a backup file of the CCF in the Ipack.
Then swap the Ipacks over, turn the ignition on and make sure you have a power supply on the battery.
Then go in to the restore menu and select Ipack, let it restore from your backup to your new Ipack, then once finished then recycle the key a couple of times to make sure there are no errors.
Then do the odometer sync, then the vin learn, cycle the key and it should now be done and the car should start.
