Hi all, just got my first D4 and I am probably doing something wrong but when I plug my Iphone into the USB port - should I be able to play music? All it does is charge the phone, wont let me select anything on the USB or AUX?

On a 2010 you need the correct LR lead that plugs in next to the USB socket (the USB socket will only play from a memory stick). An iPod won't work on a 2010 plugged into the USB port so assume its the same for an iPhone.
Drout has pictures of the lead in the thread his post links to (you don't need the Bluetooth addition if you simply want to plug an iPod in).
