I've got a coil sprung Discovery 3 that was not fitted with the what seams like standard ipod/usb connection port in the glovebox or rear of the cubby box.
My questions is it possible for a car audio specalist to fit one to the standard sterro already installed?

Not come across retro fit on a USB socket but you could ditch the OEM audio unit and replace with a universal audio unit either single or double din and get superior connectivity (USB/Bluetooth/Memory card reader) and DVD as well 
Few of us with base audio have done it and never regretted it - 8) mod
