Checked in with M J Fews today about my "recall" notification from Stratsones - looks like I was right they appear to have ballsed up - their cunning plan to get my D3 in that "workshop" and the suggest they service it as they have the vehicle has not worked HA HA HAAAAAAAAAH............
Looks like the VIN range I stated is not affected so guess thats a good number of MY05/55 owners who can rest easy.

Disco dropped into the dealers today. So I'll see what's what next week when I get home.
Picked up brochures for the D4 when I was in there
PS. I like the new slimmed down handle there "Wex"

Because your Vin is not in the range does not mean that your vehicle is not affected by the problem, just Land rover cannot see it.
Check the vacuum line to see if you have oil in it, if it has not appeared yet then it is unlikely to be a problem.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Got Letter from LR Ireland regarding recall P-017 and brake vacume.. must ring dealers to book in some time this week. also mentioned about recall P-008. My vin no. is right in the middle of the recall numbers!!
is there some where on this mighty forum where a full list of recall's has been logged. reason i ask is because this is only time i received letter regarding a recall, yet i understand not all recalls effect every single disco3 as is case here with recall P-017! phew done..

I got letter aswell
I got letter and have booked it in to newgate in Navan for week after next.
I wonder is this a ploy by LR to get us into dealers for couple of hours so we can set our hearts on a disco 4

Might be, except that there doesn't seem to be any D4's in any dealer's showrooms in Ireland. Nor would I say there will be for the foreseeable future either.
(unless one is ordered by a customer)

got the call up for this today, to be done early Dec
seems the dealer thinks its ok to offer me a bean tin to drive round in from Enterprise car for a possible 2-3 days whilst the do the job
I think not.... if they aint got a D3 to give me they can hire one!
, not a D3 to be had at this dealership apparently????Nine-tenths of wisdom is being wise in time.

2 or 3 days to do the job???
My local dealer had mine in last week for the recall, I dropped it off about 10am and picked up a FL2 for a loaner - got it back about 5pm same day, new vac pipes, new brake MC, new fuel pump and all clean & shiny too. Clive

Recall work
My D3 recently went in for work on the fuel pump and something to do with the brakes. If you look in my gallery you will see a thin black pipe now runs slightly across the engine cover.
Is this to do with the fuel pump or the brakes? It looks a bit odd where it is, almost blocking the engine cover a bit and could possible get damaged when removing the cover!!
EDIT: or was it always there and I am just going mad!!
Left mine in for a service on Thursday. Was told that 08 & 17 recall work had to be carried out and they needed the D3 for two days. Gave me an 06'D3 loaner.
Collected it yesterday evening but it was reeking of diesel. Checked it in daylight as there was diesel on the tarmac and under carriage has a film of diesel on it the whole way back to the exhaust. Thought the whole idea of the recall was to prevent fire, not start one?
It could be that there is diesel caught in the sump guard and is clearing slowly but will keep an eye on it just in case.
Whilst in for the service they also carried out 4 wheel alingment but left the bloody steering wheel, yet again, slightly to the right so when you straighten the wheel, she goes for the ditch.
Anyone have similiar amounts of excess diesel about? At lease she wont rust in a hurry!

No fear for your sanity, part of the extra pipe is new, there was one running up the side of the big plastic box, mines just the same now too, part of the modified non return valve & pipe from the brake servo vacuum pump.Clive
