What is idle speed of MY07 TDV6?

Hi Folks,
I tried finding the idle speed of the TDV6 in the owners manuals -but no good. Also couldn't find any labels under the bonnet... any ideas what the standard idle speed should be?

I think mine is a bit fast (after dealer did some repairs) - but want to check.

Thanks in advance.

Rob

I don't know the official idle speed but mine ticks over at a tad over 750 rpm.

Thanks CW. Mine is a tad over 800 RPM - so when at a stop and partial brakes are applied, I get surging/pulsing. Also upon braking, the change into 1st seems a bit hard.

Seems strange that there is no published idle speed.

Cheers,
Rob

Sorry couldnt resist Very Happy Rolling with laughter
I will check mine out and see what it is as well.

OK... so nobody else knows what the official idle speed is for the TDV6?

CW says his is about 750 RPM.. mine (MY07 and auto) is about 800 RPM.

Come on folks! Surely someone has the inside information...

TIA,
Rob

There isn't a 'standard' idle speed
The reason is that the ATCU varies the idle speed dependent upon electrical and aircon load in conjunction with the ECU determining the lowest stable speed for your individual engine. Typically the range is 750 to 900 rpm although it can temporarily go up to 1100 rpm in some circumstances

Thanks tfc!

Makes sense - shame LR never said as much in the owners manual.

I was never able to find the max rpm either. Not sure why LR are so cagey about rpm unless as stated by TFC it all depends on other factors.
