So will a 300W one be big enough to run my laptop? On the PSU it says as Input it needs 100-240VAC (1.5A) - by my maths 1.5 * 240 = 360 ...
sorry to state the obvious but why not run all the stuff except the laptop from your 75w inverter and buy a 12v laptop adapter rather than trying to go 12v-240v-laptopadapter-laptop
I know they can be a little pricey but they will happily work with a cig socket and supply nice smooth laptop power.2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

I have a 70w Kensington 12 to 240v adapter which powers my laptop from the mains and then also from the 12v socket in the car.
Also comes with Euro and UK plug (easily switched) as well as a plethora of end power adapters to suit most laptops. (Plus one free send in offer for Nokia or iPod or another adapter)
Quite pricey (€129) but I needed a power supply quickly! I'm sure you can get them cheaper. They also do a 120w one.
I've only used it in the car twice, but it's always at those times when you need it most.
