Have you knocked out any stray trees stuck in your tree sliders
I'm getting 28.5 at present, so have you checked your brakes, disk and drum, for binding?Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Transgenic tomato anyone?

Maybe your intercooler is full of mud from all those Surrey Lanes
It won't help for sure.
K&N may help a bit but that doesn't explain why your MPG has suddenly dropped.
By the way, I've fitted the EGR blanking on mine now and there's a bit less lag on it but the MPG seems to have reduced a little, I seem to average about 28 mpg as opposed to 30+ before. Clive

Clive,
Its not suddenly dropped, that's the . The car still reads between 24.5 and 26.5 mpg. But the main calc is 10% out from real fuel used.

Sorry Neil, I didn't realise it's been so low for a while.
I know what you mean about the indicated vs actual mpg, I think that normal though.
Thats me out of ideas then.Clive

Binding brakes (main or EPB), I had a caliper partially seized on enough to give horrible low mpg figs, 22 on steady 70mph cruise, 25mpg at 60mph! Worth checking to see if one wheel hub is warmer than the others after a run.

Neil, have you checked the intercooler - a visual check may lead you to think that its clear, but it can be solid with clay/mud - It can take a good 2 hours with a low-pressure pressure washer to clear.
it only takes a couple of runs through the liquid mud to causes a problem
or a DSL says, perhaps a binding caliper - if you can get an infrared thermometer and test the brake discs they should be around 40c - if its binding it will be as high as 80c - mine was Duncan

You saying I'm a fat b d John???
Not really John, considering I had steps before the Rock Sliders are positively aero Dynamic Although heavy, its not enough to take it that low.
Have a look at the sticky in Tips & Tricks from MrH. It includes pictures on how to get to the radiator etc. It works a treat but you need to persevere - if you have never cleaned out the rad and intercooler you will need a lot of water and patience. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

I'm not too far off you Neil.
I get 24.6 mpg !
I've got JE Tune, Alisport intercooler and K&N.
And I run with Miller diesel additive.
Somehow, the more I do hoping for better fuel economy, the worse it gets !!!!
But no doubt after I've unloaded all my kit
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic43320.html
I'll get better mpg.

Looks like its a job worth doing anyway, whether or not it's the cause.
