And so it evolves again..

The most versatile car I ever owned hasn't disappointed yet again.

From singleton cool surf car, to dating ride, to safe family taxi, to first caravan holiday towing, and now to horse transporter.

My discovery is defiantly part of the family.. Thumbs Up Bow down

What trailer is that? I've not seen a horse trailer with a ramp like that.

It is indeed an ifor 511. It's got the optional split barn door ramp which is a bonus. It's easier for loading stubborn horses.. apparently.. Rolling with laughter

You want to see the herd.. it's not one horse anymore.. Big Cry

Cinders.. My Favourite.

Looks like you've got it bad....! Lots of blue and red rosettes there! Looks like a very proud daughter! And proud dad!

It is the perfect car for that sort of thing! However you'll soon find it's not big enough! Espcecially when you start going to Pony Champs! Lol!

Oo I'd love a truck Bow down

I looked at building one from a DAF Lf. It's the runaway costs that are holding me back. Ive a nice tabbot tintent here that would donate a rather nice living area. I can do that part, and the cut throughs and roof pod and skirts, windows and doors I can handle. It's the rear ramp construction and building a bulkhead in that would potentially keep 3 horses from flying forward in worst case scenario.. I wouldn't know how and there's where the budget would spiral out of control.

If I can raise some funds then maybe I'll look at it again as a winter project 👍

I know those important in my life would dream of a truck. Makes me wish I studied harder at school. Ive seen this gorgeous kit that looks the part Thumbs Up

Pipe dreams at the moment. Need a small logo win I think.

If I can do it you can definitely do it!

I also couldn't afford a Lehel or an Oakley so I built my own....as and when we could afford it.... most parts were sourced from the internet and delivered by the postman!

I did a thread on the build if you are sad enough....

http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/show...our-story!

Got full sized shower, toilet, double beds, oven, microwave, en board generator etc...

Good fun and kept me busy for a little while!

Very Happy

Only did it as we outgrew the Disco and started travelling the country with the competitions which necessitated overnight stays...

Nooooo keep away from him. I made the mistake of showing my daughter the thread and then my wife saw all the pictures........... Luckily she doesn't want to drive anything too big, but then smaller lorries seem disproportionately more expensive.

Wow! I just read that build thread. Fabulous! I'm impressed by how much work and imagination went into it.

Farmer Chalk is a bit of an inspiration. I'm lucky Ive a large unused shed at work. I think it's about to become a place for horse box construction. Thumbs Up

I still think I like the DAF Lf as a starting point. The goal is 3 horses on a box wit living area and space for tack, clothes food and passengers that weighs in at 7.49 tons.

If anyone knows of a good LEZ ready Lf with a 20' GRP box I'd be interested Thumbs Up
