2013 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 SE Auto Orkney Grey

It has happened...

...my Disco broke down today

We were coming from weekend trip and stopped for a short brake. When we continued our journey and I accelerated to get to the motorway it happened... Red triangle and restricted performance text. So we limped to the next junction and called Land Rover assistance. Before calling I tried resetting etc. Nothing helped and orange motor light came on. So after waiting for two hours in the middle of nowhere Disco was towed and took taxi home (+100km). Car was serviced this week. Maybe something was not done properly? Engine did make funny noise during last DPF cycle few days back and rews went up and down... No problems after that and I thought that this was due software update that was made in service...

So not a happy camper today

Sounds like it could be a split turbo hose. Happen to mine. Had just done 3k mile round trip to Denmark with no issues, then on Monday morning on the way across country stopped at a service station and as I accelerated to pull out back onto the motorway and.... BONG plus amber warning and restricted performance.

Hope you get her back soon.

I called dealer yesterday and expained what happened. They said that it sounds like turbo hose and will look into it today. I quess turbo hose is a quick fix? Still under warranty so no cost risk... Now driving a Audi A3 quattro. Nice - but small and feels like a cart car. So missing my Disco... Discovery MY13 4 TDV6 SE

I just got a call from dealer and problem is now fixed. It was "throttle box" that was replaced. They told me that some Discos have had similar problems and that "throttle box" is a known problem.

Am I first to experience this in this forum?

Well Audi goes back after work and it is Disco time again
