It thinks I've crashed

I have done a search but can't find anyone else experiencing this which I would expect.

I moved the passenger seat (electric) this evening to it's maxium rear position before remembering that it is meant to be as far forward and up to put a new disc in the sat nav DVD box under the seat.
Then the hazard lights started to flash.

A quick call to 10forCash (the 4th emergency service) revealed I have probably pulled a wire out from underneath the seat when moving it and it thinks one of the restraints has been deployed. When in this 'collision mode' the vehicle cannot be started as it disables the starter, it unlocks all the doors, turns the interior lamps on and the hazard warning lights flash continously - even if you get out and lock the vehicle.

I couldn't see any wires that were pinched or pulled out of their connectors and left the battery disconnected for 20 minutes to see if it would re-set but no, it still thinks it has crashed.

So I have left the battery disconnected and locked everything manually. Anyone experienced this before?

Cheers,
John

No. Might be a broken wire - you could try wiggling the wiring about under the seat to see if the problem goes. or unplug the seat cables and reinsert (loose connection).

I found the issue or at least 10forC alerted me to it.
I had the dash out earlier in the evening looking for an ignition live to tap into. I had knocked the large white multi plug (2nd from left in pic below) out of the back of the heater/climate control panel. The plug hadn't totally come out which is why I didn't notice it but it had pulled out just enough to disconnect some of the wires.
This is part of the CanBus and without a good connection this trips the vehicle into 'collision mode'. Amazing how such a tiny thing can immobilise the whole vehicle.
