Not casting a shadow over the explanation, but  , the web site I found the pics had on the description that it was a demo error by the salesman. I guess its one of those chinese whisper stories, will we ever know the truth.
Look up the site, all Landrover smashes are under Range Rover

That 2nd crash pic probably explains why my stealership insisted that the salesman drove when we did the off-road demo! 
They do this 'trick' where they drive the course in reverse - then side, flip and roll over on the roof  08 LR3 SE V8 - 02 D2 SE7 V8
