I've got a Sat Nav - No you haven't - yes I have....
Today I was using the sat nav to reduce the possibility of getting lost in Norwich.
All was well for the first few hours of the journey (apart from the traffic, but that's another story). A couple of miles from my destination the screen blanked displaying a message about not having a sat nav installed, only to resume after a few moments, then blank with the same message, and so it repeated until I reached my destination (more by luck than sat nav).
On the return journey all was well for the first couple of hours, then it started to do the same again - the st nav would OK for a few minutes, then blank for a few minutes. Very frustrating on the way home (I was near enough known roads by the time it started to play up, but on the way out.....
Ideas for a solution/repair/whatever please.Rob Smith

Solution = Google Maps.
But that may not be what you mean.

The fact that the LandRover system did not distract you from trying to reach your destination was probably a bonus
ts useless when working

Sounds like either the laser reader on the unit itself is on its way out or the DVD is scratched. Happened to mine so I ended up swapping out the guts of the unit and getting the discs polished - problem solved.Previously owned an '08 D3 HSE in Stornoway grey but jumped ship to see what the Swedes have to offer.

Had the exact same problem. I'd only had the car a few weeks.
Found the flap where you put the Sat Nav disk had not been closed.
Took the disk out, and it was covered in muck.
Give it a quick clean and all has been good since.
