Jump start pack help...MUCH confucion
I know this has been discussed here, but the more I read, the more confused I get.
I see the small packs (Lithium?) and the large "older" style jump packs.
I just want one that will start my Disco 4, from totally flat, in very cold weather. But which one? I have trawled Amazon etc, but it seems there are a lot out there that have pretty poor reviews.
I am off on my annual 6 weeks in the Alps, where its cold, and while the battery doesn't usually go flat, it has done once and A) it was a nightmare and B) it cost me ££s.
So could anyone with real knowledge let me know which one just "works".
Thanks

I've just got back from home (Africa) and bought one of these to take back with me. I used it a few times on different vehicles including once on my Disco 3, after I'd left an interior light on.
I was very impressed! And good value for money, I think.
The Freelander 2.0 litre diesel that it started had absolutely nothing in the battery.
I went through the different threads on the forum but this one worked for me.
Obviously the cold will be a big factor, which I didnt encounter.

I’ve had a Noco GB150 for over a year with no issues, certainly does the job when required.
Also have the Noco GB75 at work, should do a D4 without any issues.

Yes same make, was a commercial one rated 12/24v did manage to start a couple of motors, I never had any luck with it and I am guessing no one else did either as everyone went back to the traditional jump pack as it just worked.
Then after a couple of years when the normal jump pack died we got two more very expensive jump packs, Iirc getting on for 700 quid each and I am pretty sure if the little thing was any good we would have bought two of them instead as way cheaper.
I am not saying they are carp but based on what I have seen I would not bother.

It works very well on both 12 and 24v but you do have to have a small charge in the original battery for it to work.
If its completley dead ie 0v it wont allow you to jump start.
Its very light, holds its charge for at least 6 months and fits nicely under the rear seats.
