These are LR Press cars, or was.
Yes it is narrow i was possibiley thinking about the iceland Defender version wheel arches on a defender body, im unsure yet how it will work or not work out.

Why not have a go with the D3's body, Pete? Too heavy up top once it's done?
Idealy id like a defender with the tdv6 2.7L or the new 3.0L in it , but there are problems with propshaft location etc etc.
The easest option i can think of is use a d3/sport chassis and running gear but make it look like a Defender, removing all the extra electrics that is in the D3 and keep it baisc as possibile like a defender with no satnav radio etc etc ,im unsure which way to go at the moment im going to have to do some homework on measurements of the chassis V Defender body etc etc.
I think it will be different which is whats actualy driving it/me loool
Regards pete

Because landrover will not produce a production defender with a standard v6 or v8 diesel giving me the power of the d3.
And i keep getting asked to fit the TDV6 into trial/off road cars and racers but i wont do it for others untill ive built my own project so its about time i got my finger out.
Sounds like a challenging project Pete, and many of us will be watching with interest . Looks like your project vehicle is airsprung though - surely a coiler would be a better place to start for the first Defender bodied TDV6? Can you upload photos as you go along? Would be great to see it progress Previously:
