Is it possible that by means of a faulty (open) EGR valve, the valve cover melted due to too much hot exhaust fumes? (Same for throttle body).
No fuel leaks. Only lots of oil, that seemed to come out the ventilation valve... Is that possible due to pressure build up by egr?

No one?
Just got a quote (3448,12€) from LR dealer, based on just visual inspection and parts that obviously need replacement.
They do NOT give any waranty that she will run after replacing those parts, because they don't know where the oil leak comes from... (still working on that one myself also...) Could be a costly endeavor at 120€ per hour
Any suggestions lads? Where are the mechanics opinions here?
No idea whats she's worth in this condition and if it is reasonalbe to get her fixed at that cost (minimum)...

Its speculative to be honest without closer inspection. I would have doubted EGR gas that far inside the manifold as its temperature would have been reduced with the cold air intake. If the EGR pipe itself is fractured that would be a different scenario as it may have caused a fire with an open EGR valve.
Without more info I'd guess its a fuel leak, but difficult at this remove to be more precise.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

a cracked erg pipe was also my first guess, but it is still intact.
Actually, there was no fire as it turns out. The soot came from the bad combustion.
They told me that the reason for the melted manifold and valve cover is due to an open egr, causing hot exhaust to melt the plastic.
Problem is the oil that's splattered all around. In my opinion it comes from the valve (see photo), but I have no idea what caused it. If someone has any idea what caused the oil to be pushed out, it would help me to decide whether or not to repair the car.
The dealer clearly said that his estimate only deals with the parts that clearly needs replacment based on only visual inspection. (meaning possible additional costs)

I think you need to get your hands dirt and have a go fixing yourself

Well you could blank that sides EGR valve to stop it doing any more damage.
Replace the cam cover. Maybe a days work as the fueling stuff needs to be removed.
Start it up and see what happens.

I think you'll find the lads on here are far from lacking when it comes to resolving technical issues, and diagnosing problems. However we are not psychic.....yet
As Pete K said you need to pull the damn thing apart, a little deeper in we might be able to provide you something more substantial.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

There have been cases of the cover melting before.
Maybe heat in the breather system has brought that oil to the surface.

Possible Reason For Oil Leak
If there’s a hole in the cam cover, at motorway speeds a lot of your engine oil will be a mist as soon as it has access to outside air will cool it and return back to oil, leaving what could look like an oil leak.
A simple experment take of the oil filler cap on any hot engine and rev it a few times and see how much mess that makes.
Can’t really see in pictures but if the oils more to the back of the engine, I would think that’s where it’s blown before cooling.
Only a idea as can’t see the car.Discovery 3 HSE 07
