Hi everybody. Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.
I'm not quite a D3 owner yet, but I should collect my new TDV6 S Auto next Monday (4th), exchanging my trusty old DII.
After browsing the posts here I think I'd have to be very lucky if I don't experience some problem or other. Hey ho, that's what you buy into with Land Rover ownership.
Nevertheless I'm really looking forward to using the new Disco. It'll be used for towing a lot, and for a few high days and holidays. After the new sheen wears off it'll go off road too, although I hope I don't tear off the front and rear bumpers on the first outing as I did with the DII
BTW my other car is a 2005 Laguna, and if the posts on parkers.co.uk forum are anything to go by, it really is the very worst car on earth. Discovery owners have nothing to fear
So, I'll post some thoughts on ownership a few days and miles into it.
Finally, is there anything I should really do or check or look out for when I pick her up?
Thanks guys.
Alan. If you wait for it to go wrong - it's bound to oblige

Welcome Alan!
Theres been a good few threads on what to check on collection, to be honest, just make sure YOU are happy with it
Push all the buttons, open all the doors, insanely at everyone around you...... and take the long way home 8)

Thanks guys,
Jeff, I remember the permagrin from picking up my DII - it was one of the first on the road.
10FC, I'm going to take a look at the threads for collection stuff. Oh yes I will be playing with everything! - especially the suspension. Just to be sure, you understand If you wait for it to go wrong - it's bound to oblige

Well that's it - I finally got my new D3 on Monday.
I've been off doing a bit of driving
BUT I'm so worried - it's just so civilised I might need to buy myself a 110 to take a reality check
Seriously tho' it's absolutely great. I just have one question. Has anyone had an issue with wheel alignment on their new car? Mine pulls quite strongly to the left, and the steering wheel is out of alignment about 3-5 degrees clockwise.
I'm taking it back anyway to let the monk.... er, mechanics take a look. It's just nice to have some info in advance
The permagrin remains complete regardless
