Just starting out

Evening

I've just myself a disco 3 last week and really loving it.

I've got a few jobs that I would like to sort, one been the judder from the autobox.

I would like to flush the atf and maybe try the Dr tranny.

Is there anybody around Sheffield that could carry the process out?

Any info would be great.

Thanks Daz

Hi,

Welcome! Bodsy, Ian Bodsworth, is your best bet. He is mobile so travels to you to do it. I've messaged him to do mine in Huddersfield and he's letting me know next week when he can do it. Might be worth messaging him to see if he can do yours at the same time.

It's about £300 for the flush, but that's done properly 99% of fluid replaced apparently. He's very highly recommended on here and the FB groups, and is really helpful.

I’m sorry to say it will take more than a flush and DrTranny to cure it, a expensive flush and DrT will only give you time to save the £2k for a permanent cure( torque converter and gb overhaul) Big Cry

Morning

To be honest that's the plan, the d3 won't get used apart from odd weekends and travelling to our static at skegness when it opens. Maybe 4k a year tops.

So hopefully keep me moving while things can get sorted.

My partner has her car but I just don't like driving it.

The joys of landrover owners.

Thanks for the reply Thumbs Up

Providing DrT hasn’t already been used it will certainly work for a while, might be as much as 10k miles and an oil flush may also help, I’m saying may because although new oil is expensive and better in most respects the old oil contains contaminants that actually help the clutches to grip and it is clutch slip that causes the judder.
DrT works extremely well to stop the judder but in fact all it does is swell the oil seals that are leaking, these seals are in the gb input shaft and hold the pressure to the clutch that is slipping, the seals have failed because of wear on the gb input shat, the only permanent fix is a new TC and gb input shaft and associated seals.

Great info thanks for that,
Always nice to understand what's spending my hard earned cash.

It's a huge learning curve. Big Cry
