Just taken the plunge and bought a D3! |
|
Evening all.
Earlier tonight I put a deposit down on this D3.
I've got an option to return it within 7 days for a full refund should I decide to change mind so I'm after tips from the experienced boffins on this forum to make sure I make the best possible use of those 7 days!
Firstly, I'd be grateful for a recommendation of a specialist near North Bristol who I could get to give it a thorough once over to pick up any issues that might bite me on the backside once my 7 day backout period has expired.
Secondly (and yes, I'll certainly be looking at the known-faults areas of the site for tips over the next couple of days!) I'd be grateful for suggestions of what you would make it your priority to check out based on your own D3 experiences.
Thirdly, I'd just be interested in any general comments anyone may have. Have I paid over the odds? Massively over the odds? Is it possible to spot any defects or mods from the photos? That kind of thing.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Thats a great website you bought it from, I like all the pictures they put on. From what I can see it looks a good buy and alot cheaper than LR prices. I wouldn't expect to save all of that money if it hasn't got a warranty or at least a good LR warranty. I'm guessing the 7 days to return is becuase you haven't driven yet due to it being an online retailer? Seems quite a good idea to me, it's like having a 7 day demo.

Welcome ArmitageShanks
make sure you get yourself to the Bristol Area Meet for a few beers
I'm no mechanic, but happy to take a drive in it with you to see if it feels and sounds right
check the middle Row, middle seat is OK. The base of the seat is in the folded position. In mine it is not possible to get the seat back upright if the the base is is this lower position, so something may not be right there..,although ive not tried to achieve this using brute force Duncan

If I'd known I was going to be so thirsty this morning I'd have drunk more beer last night.

Belated thanks for the replies, folks - the car was delivered to me on Tuesday and is going back tomorrow. There are still a few issues for me to iron out with autoquake, related to the return of the vehicle, so I will refrain from commenting on my experience further until everything has been completed.
Cheers.
