My curiosity was because I just read that the first D4's went on sale on 1st September 2009. I have D3 which was first registered in early September 2009. Some call them D 3.5's.1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

Cars can sit in fields for many, many months before being sold. My now dead D3 was built in Aug 05 but not registered until Mar 06.

Suppose it all depends on how many the dealer had sitting at the yard
I have a limited edition Subaru that was only produced in a 3 - 4 month window in 2007... but one appeared on a 2009 plate recently 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320
