Key Entry - how to stop alarm ???? |
|
Gday All,
Been having a few issues with the keyfob no locking / unlocking the D3 , so decided to look in the manual how to access the car by key - all good except the car is reverse to what the manual says as to key direction.
My problem is every time I unlocked the car and opened the door the alarm would activate and I couldn't see anywhere it tells how to de-activate the alarm. Can anyone enlighten me please ???
Also the keyfob, is the battery replaceable ? and if so is it something I want to tackle ??
Thanks in advance.
Cheers Bulletman

have you tried turning the ignition on to II to stop the alarm ? (maybe within 10 seconds?)
Batteries are soldered in.
Depends how good your soldering is. People have broken them! So not a job to learn on

On my wife’s FL2 she had to use the key for a day or two and as far as I can remember if you lock that car with the key the alarm doesn’t ring when you open it with the key again. Worth a try.

How do you lock the car if the remote does not work?- have you tried the second remote?
Try putting the remote on an electric toothbrush charger overnight.
Have you checked the condition of cable joint under the front passenger side floor trim?- do a search if you haven't. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Having played this game last week:
1. To stop the alarm, put the key in the ignition and turn it on.
2. To lock the doors, use the lock button on the centre console, reach from the passenger door and use the lock button on the centre console (but make sure you don't leave your key inside when you shut the door.....)
3. Yes, you can replace the battery, did mine successfully (though I have previously done quite few Transit keyfobs which are virtually identical inside - unsurprisingly!). You can also replace the switches if you are keen - loads of kits on Ebay (well, there are for Transits and the parts are the same). The tricky bit I have found it finding some glue that will stick the two halves back together successfully.

I am one of these people! If you have a cheapo 30w Maplin soldering iron with a tip covered in oxide it may not get hot enough and you could rip the track off the circuit board....
