Maybe LR will listen and just allow the option of switching keyless entry off, via dealer if needed. I can quite happily press an unlock/lock button on the fob, somehow I managed doing that for 30 odd years driving.

That depends on the type of device. The one I use monitors the HS CAN-Bus for the key programing sequence and then locks access to the KVM module. The only time you have to disable the device is if you want to program a new key. Tested it with my IID-tool and it worked .Disco4 V6 SC HSE (MY2014)

my brother for his sins has an evoque,
did say to him to at least buy a disc lock
know regardless of security if thieves want it they will just lift it
doesn’t give people much confidence with the advancement of driverless cars and being hacked

would make perfect sense , so then at least it gives the owner the option
are the D4s still thatcham systems plse
maybe the ins companies may put pressure onto LR to resolve the ease of which they can be nicked
wonder if thieves can also get ur fob signal whilst sitting in traffic
Daft question but with all these thefts of (and from) keyless entry cars using piggyback boosters, can this function just be switched off via IID or other widget? I've somehow managed for thirty odd years pressing a button on a keyfob, it's not exactly arduous, and strikes me as a simple solution to stopping theft of cars via the keyless route.
Thoughts oh wise ones out there?

Are they sufficiently desirable? 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Just tried it for a second time, doesn't work on my MY11 HSE.
Did it on my 13MY D4, didn't work the first time, but did the second time. I think there is a maximum time between presses and locking unlocking that if you exceed it, it doesn't work.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

Still no joy on mine, even with very quick lock/unlock press.
Excellent there is now a way of disabling it though, even if not on mine for now.

For those having trouble trying to disable the keyless entry, this may be of help.
Having read this thread last night I went out into the cold and tried to disable the keyless entry on my 16MY Graphite. No luck. I tried again several times this morning but every time I completed the sequence of presses, it always recognised it when I put my hand on the door handle and unlocked the car. As I was going out in the car this afternoon I thought I would try one last time and went through the sequence of presses. Still no luck. It unlocked when I held the door handle. I gave up, got in the car and drove off. When I reached my destination I got out the car and as I proceeded to walk away I pressed the button on the handle to lock the car. Hey presto it wouldn't lock - success. Tested several times and yes the keyless entry has been disabled. It looks like you have to use the car to implement the change. Hope this helps.
