Knocking from rear over bumps? |
|
Over certain bumps I get a knocking sound from the rear "area" - could it be the bushes? Not very technical in these matters!?!?!?!

A..R...B.... Anti Roll Bar ?!?!?
See I catch on quick....
Do them yourself or through a garage?
What should I expect to pay for the rear or all four?
Thanks Euanggibson

Recent chat on here revealed one particular dealer was attempting to extort circa £600 odd...
local Independant in Edinburgh (Whites auto services) did all 4 for around £150.Well worth it for the peace and quiet afterwards "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

My friend.......you are dealing with someone, who, until he discovered this website, needed a mechanic to fill the windscreen washer bottle for him
We went away for the weekend to celebrate me cleaning the MAP sensor.... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

more likely to be the lower suspension arm bushes, others have thought ARB's but then spent £100's having them replaced only to find it was the upper/lower suspension arm bushes.
Have a look at this post only a few days ago and look at fellow member's video
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic65401.html
Have the same issue, ARB inspected by LR tech, no problem there however noise had gone since we had the air-suspension recalibrated, might have been the weights knocking on the nsr due to a wrong heights on the corners of the d3 in part down to a corroded height sensor

agree with other guys re arb,s,had mine done recently under warranty, great improvement.but,i saw a thread ref a guy with the same sort of problem and it turned out to be the spare wheel not located and tightened up properly, making a hell of a racket ,just a thought.

Mine was partly the spare [problem improved massively] and rear ARB [noise completely gone afterwards].
Cost me circa £80.00 incl parts from my trusted mechanic. D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk
