Land rover button

Hi All

I have had my Disco 3 for a few months now and everything has been going OK (Apart from the bluetooth phone still does not work despite doing everything possible)

I have used the "Landrover" part of my key fob to switch on "follow me home lights" This function has worked perfectly OK until recently. When ever I press the landrover button you can hear the tail gate partially unlocking. When I get into the landrover to drive off a message tells me that my tail gate is open. And the follow me home lights do not illuminate anymore. Can anyone tell me why this is????
I thank you in advance...

The button can be programmed to do a few different things. Lights, boot opening and raise and lower suspension. Yours has lost its pre program. Read the manual it’ll explain how to reprogram it to which ever you want.

Have you started using the other key which just happens to be set up for opening the tailgate?

Hi Stu

Thank you for your reply.

No. I have ever used the other key. I just wondered why all of a sudden it has decided to open the tail gate. Can you actually programme the key to do this?
I was led to believe that the only things you can programme it to do was panic alarm, lights and suspension.
Do you think I should just re-programme the key and see what happens?
all the best

As you say, those 3 thing you mention Plus 'follow me home lights'

I think you press and hold the LR button then flash headbeam with ignition on until you hear a bong but as Erea says, it is in the manual so check it as I'm not sure I've got it right.

We use our third button to raise and lower suspension by remote when hooking up the caravan, a few older (older even than us) caravaners think it's some kind of witchcraft
