land rover discovery 3 towing electrics |

hello i have a land rover discovery 3 2005 but i have bean given twin towing electrics that fit a discovery 4
will there fit my car or not ? thanks chris

According to the parts catalogue linked from this site, they have the same part number for both the Discovery 3 and Discovery 4 so it should be alright.
Updated - Sorry, I was reading the callout numbers, not the part numbers, so they are different as stated elsewhere.

No, Discovery 4 electrics are different to D3 electrics - see http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic54490.html 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

D4 twin 7 pin (12N &12S) electrics are VPLAT0011 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

ok thanks for the help. if anbody needs a set of twin towing electrics for a discovery 4 and has twin towing electrics for a discovery 3 i would do swap for them thanks chris

Hi they will fit. the plugs are the same but they altered the wiring colours.
I took my D3 loom & fitted it in my D4.. Worked all funny to start with.
10 mins later after investigation with a multimeter & a few crimp connectors it all works fine.
Let me know if you need any more info..
Are you fitting both of the sockets or just towing electrics..
