landrover seat cover WARNING CHECK YOURS!!! |
|
hi all
well i have had my beloved d3 for 6 months now and when i got it i wanted to protect my alpacca leather the best i could. so i went out and bought some genuine landrover seat covers for the front seats as i work in a garage in the office but still get a bit riffy if you know what i mean.
well i thought all was fine and decided to remove the covers to give them a machine wash and to my HORROR all my drivers seat has gone blue where all the dye has come out the seat covers. i have tried to clean it off but it has stained the leather and will not budge, the question is what should i do i paid nearlly £100 for these GENUINE COVERS and did not expect this to happen, what would you lot do

get it sorted by your dealer... oh and read any instructions if there are any... it may say to wash before use ???
If not then I would expect LR to sort it out.

mmm... so maybe there is an issue with a batch of covers ?
I would recommend any one else on the forum to check under their covers - especially if they have alpacca leather !
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Maybe add to your warning to get people to check ?
cheers

Sorry to hear your news. I use gliptone waterproof stuff and I regularly have muddy trousers yet nothing has marked the leather. They do a cleaner which is good at getting the blue from denim out of the seats, might be worth a try. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

I'd see what LR say first before trying any fix yourself.
Good to know though that there is a possible fix.

That's the place Shawn, they don't make many claims but the stuff has always been great on my seats. I use the cleaner and the waterproof conditioner and its taken everything I've thrown at it. I have to clean the seats every 3 months or so, not even the kids have marked the leather in 14 months and 26K miles. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
