I've done a search, and can't find anything about leaking fuel injectors. Am I the first?
After noticing a smokey smell last week when I was outside D3 while the engine was running, I had a bit of a root about under the bonnet. There was clearly smoke coming up from the rear of the engine on the left hand side. I stopped it and took some covers off, and took a rubbish photo of it for you all:

The arrow is pointing to an invisible puddle of diesel about 1mm deep at the base of the injector.
As I say, the site search has revealed nothing. Has anyone had a leaky injector before?

I don't know Rob, but if I were you I would be cautious. If the diesel is coming out at rail pressure, as a fine mist, it will be highly inflammable.
Not a leak in the high pressure system, but a leak on the return from the injector (I didn't even know there was a return from the injector). As it's pipe work, it's not covered by Tesco warranty, but it should be reasonably inexpensive to resolve. The local indi is pricing it up for me now.

Injector leak and fire......
Please check the Post I made about a fire that happened under my bonnet. Although on the other side it too was a return line leak that got toooooo hot.

Coincidence, I have a leak in exactly the same place that happened this week except my line appears to have split and it was peeing diesel everywhere. I had to be recovered home. The part from lr dealer was £60, seems easy but fiddly to fit, will be trying this weekend

well it wasn't the rubber hose. it was actually an injector feed pipe had snapped. had the engine replaced due to an independent wrecking it during a cambelt and looks like they put one of the injector feed pieps on incorrectly and it has failed 4 weeks after getting the car back. should be sorted tomorrow

now there's a funny thing, I assume you noticed it by the poor fuel consumption, reason for asking is the old boy was not very efficient, did approx 250 miles, gauge was on just under full, then when I got home it was between reserve and quarter full, the "digital readout" suggested the usual 19mpg average.
He's booked in for 8.00am Wednesday at TH Whites.
by the way, seems this one had the same problem........
