Leather Door Card Repair Needed

Look what SWMBO done.

Don't know how Sad .

Might've been the seat belt buckle Shocked
Might've been the buckle on the satchel Rolling Eyes

Who knows Neutral

Any ideas on an effective repair that won't cost me a door card?
I'm after making it invisible, just a little less obvious and secure against becoming worse.

Had exact same thing on my MY2012, it was the seat belt buckle but due to the belt not recoiling fully. Dealer replaced it under warranty along with seat belt. Do you have extended warranty? is your seatbelt slow to recoil?

Also damaged rear door card they wanted £400+ for one Censored

Thanks RDR

I do have extended warranty but I'm not sure about the speed of the seatbelt recoiling.

I'll check and let you know.

Did you have to point out that the belt led to the damage or is that something they picked up on and dealt with without prompt?

I explained that it was the seatbelt recoil that was the route cause of the damage to the door card. They had seen it before and took it as a warranty case no problem Thumbs Up

Having just bought the car, and inheriting the warranty I wasn't sure how this would work.

I'll give the local dealer (Stratstone Hainault) a call tomorrow and explain what's happened and suggest that the warranty be used to take care of it.

Thanks

Go for it, if you don't ask you don't get Thumbs Up Compare both belts to each other, mine stuck out like a sore thumb. The passenger side snapped back and the drivers did but 1 in 3 would just sag a foot short for a while with the buckle in the door frame.

Youngest son trapped the belt in the passengers door of Mrs mik's D4 a few months back. Replacement door card was £stoopid.

Got a local SMART repair guy to sort it for less than £80. Looks great. Thumbs Up

Thanks THUB

I'll try the dealer with the warranty solution first.
Hopefully it's an accepted known fault and they've "been expecting me" Laughing

Went to book it in with my local dealership (Grange Landrover Woodford) and was hugely disappointed with their attitude on simply answering the phone and getting passed from person to person to person.

I've now booked it in with Lookers of Bishops Stortford.
It's not my local dealer but it's also not a million miles away either and it's where the D4 first came from and the dealership that's continued to look after the vehicle up to now too.

They've acknowledged the seat belt recoiling issue on the phone but have said they'll need to look and check on the door card damage once they get the car.

Booked in for 09 Oct. Wish me luck

At least acknowledging the issues is a good start, so good luck.

This reminds me I need to get mine repaired.
