Cheers guys.

It will be going in sometime in the next week or two. The workshop though have to take photos of every step of the job and send them to LR.

I think LR are getting bored with broken engines causing uneconomic repairs.

Can you imagine the 3rd or 4th owner having a small shunt and cracking a headlight in their 12 year old £5k Velar, only to be told you might as well take it down the scrapyard!!

Velar is back, had its new lights fitted yesterday though one of the new ones didn’t work Rolling Eyes so replacement sent out and fitted this morning.

Now finally have my Velar back to how it should be, one more planned trip into the dealers though to hopefully get Apple CarPlay activated.

Hopefully 2019 will be a trouble free year. Ready to start it all over again in 2020 with its replacement. A P300 Velar.

😍😍😍

The joy of having the Velar back was short lived, software issues, software issues and what’s that other thing the Velar has problems with? Oh yes software issues 🤬

Hopefully get them rectified this month though I’m not holding my breath.

Land Rover this is getting beyond a joke, 2017 this car was launched, here we are now in 2019 and you are still trying to get your own infotainment system to work properly.

You name it Laughing

No we ain’t that bad yet, Bluetooth connectivity doesn’t work and incontrol apps, though not great, worked until Christmas now it’s playing up, all known issues with 18B update. Apparently the latest software update cures everything and from the majority of owners who now have it say it’s how the car should’ve been from new. It’s getting it booked in up here thats the bigger issue as according to my dealer this update doesn’t exist yet despite me sending them photos and showing them a copy of the release notes from LR Rolling Eyes

Been in touch with my local BMW dealer who are offering 24 hour test drives at the moment. Hopefully Saturday I’ll be taking an X3 out for the day.

I’ve sat in the new BMW X5. It’s amazing. So much tech too.

“So much tech” you say. In comparison to what other car?

The first things that I noticed were the claustrophobic cabin, the small boot and the rigid plastic surface to the lower tailgate (which is both easily scratched and unsafe for a dog to both land on or launch from).

Why not? There is a world outside of LR - as many on here are discovering. I'd never thought of a BMW either, I'd always been an Audi guy, but the company car list many on so i went to look. I ended up with a 535d M Sport Touring. Fantastic car. Sweet engine, awesome gearbox, went like stink and beautifully built. It was also very economical Very Happy

We moved from LR to BMW and ended up owning 5 of them (2x X5, 6conv, Z3 and a 1).

Agree our last X5 was the above only let down by the stupidly hard suspension and insatiable appetite for the costly RF tyres (new set every 19k due to the negative camber they run at the rear). We did have a transfer box issue which BMW covered under goodwill. Boot wasnt the biggest either.

Had a pal around today. He has a 2016 D4. Warranty is up soon so wants to change it (he knows the extended warranty doesn't include the crank), but other than it won't buy a new LR (poor service, lousy dealer, shocking reliability), he has no idea what else comes close other than a Bentyaga Shocked - which he has on test drive next week. With regards to the D5, he thought it just an over grown Santa Fe but without the quality or warranty.

That's another high value customer lost. It'll also not be lost on the parents of his kid's school that he has moved brands. What saddens me is that I hear and see this all too often. Bath and the surrounding area is a very affluent but LR is now defiantly NOT the 4x4 of choice.

LR - You really do need to sit up and look at what is happening. The rush for China has blown up in your face and your home market has lost faith. Sad
