I'm on my 5th V8d Autobiography RRS now, with another on order (all company cars), covered about 60k in total spread across all of them, including three 3k'ish jaunts in a fortnight round Europe in them and cannot think of a better car to do it it.

Icing on the cake for me was the inclusion of the Velar style twin screen console set up on my current one.

Colours I've had are Firenze red (absolute favourite with contrast roof and black pack/wheels, etc.), a Yulong white, Aintree Green (with cream leather - hated interior, never again.....) Silicon Silver and current Byron Blue (still too 'grey') with Carpathian Grey on order. All had contrast roof (looks odd in body colour with pan'roof IMO) and some with black wheels and some with silver (don't always get a choice).

Engine is awesome, I get 30'ish mpg all in driving with a high of about 37mpg if I try on a long trip.

In dynamic mode it will seriously hustle with some pretty sporting alternative vehicles (with commensurate drop in economy) but is at it's best as a long-range GT cruiser for me.

I have flipped with my son's Velar P250 a bit recently and from driver seat very similar, obviously, but the Velar looks longer in rear view mirror and whilst the 2.0 petrol four pot in his is very smooth it's economy is no great shakes, even being 'fairly gentle' with it and economy is worse than my RRS.

I'll keep having theV8d for as long as I can. Did look into P400e version for next one but just makes no sense for me when 95%+ of my driving would be on inferior 2.0 petrol powertrain

I want your job!! Mr. Green
 King of the typo.

MY11 D4 5.0 V8, Bourneville, lots of goodies!

Now departed: '85 RR Vogue, '94 D1, '95 D1, '70 SIIA, '97 D1, '04 D2a. All V8, except for the SIIA - but that drank as much petrol anyway!

Update - The Sport is off the cards at the moment, can’t really justify the increase in, well, pretty much everything Laughing and for my needs and how use the car the Velar is hard to beat.

However whilst giving the Velar some TLC I noticed my near side rear light is going the same way as the front, so here we go again, lock horns with Land Rover.

I did do a bit of searching on Topix as I did recall a technical bulletin about rear light issues, I’ve done a lot of studying on Velar lighting Laughing, so I have high hopes.

No, I’ve decided on something different. Something the complete opposite of the Velar. I’m think of taking on another dog next year so the Velar won’t be big enough for the two.

Though it does have the Green oval.

I did look at the the 2.0 SD4 D5 Landmark in Portofino Blue, but I think the new Defender will be better priced. Plus my salesman has his own concerns over the D5 values once Defender is launched. Though everything could change as I don’t want to spend a fortune and have to drive with my elbow out the window Laughing

Based on the position of the rear wheel the trunk looks short, though...? Perhaps it’s just the angle.

Yeah it doesn’t look the biggest load space. We’ll see in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Went into the dealers today for the rear light crack to be investigated, they ain’t fighting it this time it’s a straight forward replacement. Happy days
