Liftgate will not open

Liftgate will not open

i have a problem with the liftgate wont open on my D3 i have checked the previose posts and tried the press lock and unlock togeather and still wont release.
if i just use the button under the handle i hear the mechanism working but not releasing also the same if i use the lock unlock method.
i have not used the ar for a while and have had to charge the batteries and have 12.3 volts available is the any way i can remove the tail gate and lifgate inside trim to get to the locks as i cannot open the tailgate/liftgate to get to the retaining screws.
Any advice would be very welcome thank you in advance

Helps if you have someone outside to pull on the tailgate whilst person inside operates the lock unlock buttons - another option is programme the third button on the D3 key for tailgate release Must stop buying shiny toys....

Hi,

as Darrind says if its the latch and you can hear the switch working you may need someone to lift the tailgate while you press the 2 buttons on the dash as it does not open on its own,
a long length of wood or broom stick can also work Laughing

if you want to test the wiring if you do get the tailgate open this thread may help.
